What Is a Seizure?

A seizure is a sudden disturbance of brain activity.

Signs and Symptoms

Loss of consciousness
Jerking movements
Uncontrolled muscle activity

First Aid Actions

Protect the casualty from injury
Do not restrain them
Do not put anything in their mouth

Call emergency services if:

The seizure lasts more than 5 minutes
Another seizure follows
The casualty does not regain consciousness
