What a First Aider Is NOT Expected to Do

First Aiders must not:

  • Diagnose medical conditions
  • Administer medication (unless trained and authorised)
  • Perform procedures outside their training
  • Put themselves in danger
  • Delay emergency services when they are needed

Knowing your limits is a key part of being a safe and effective First Aider.
